CellSweeper

Privacy policy

Effective September 9, 2026. CellSweeper is provided by Bosau Digital L.L.C. / Python & VBA.

Workbook access

CellSweeper uses Excel’s ReadWriteDocument permission to create and update its own game worksheets. It reads worksheet identifiers, names, the current selection, and CellSweeper metadata to locate and operate boards. It does not read unrelated cell values or formulas, and does not transmit workbook contents to us.

Game storage

Mine layouts, revealed cells, flags, game status, and timing are stored in custom properties of each game worksheet. They travel with the saved workbook and can be accessed by people with access to that workbook. They are game data, not encrypted secrets. In the Excel add-in, local browser storage holds best completion times by difficulty. The optional browser preview also stores its latest simulated board locally. No sign-in, advertising, or analytics code is included in CellSweeper.

Network requests

Your browser loads the add-in’s files from addins.pythonandvba.com and Microsoft’s Office.js library from Microsoft. These services receive the usual connection information, such as IP address and browser details, and may keep operational server logs. Excel’s own cloud storage and services remain subject to Microsoft’s privacy terms. Following an external link is subject to that site’s policies.

Deletion and contact

Delete a game worksheet to remove that board from the current workbook, and save the workbook. Existing copies and cloud version history may retain earlier data. Clear this add-in site’s local browser storage to remove personal bests. If you contact support, the information you submit is used to respond to your request. For privacy questions, contact Bosau Digital L.L.C. via Python & VBA.
